Today, I’m chatting with the amazing Brenda Adelman. Adelman is an award-winning actor, speaker, coach, recipient of a Hero of Forgiveness award & has been interviewed on NPR and on Fox TV News. She’s performed her critically acclaimed one-woman show, My Brooklyn Hamlet, (based on her life story) about the power of forgiving the unforgivable for over 12,000 people worldwide, including for The LA Women’s Theatre Festival, for the Coalition against Domestic Violence in Arizona and New Mexico, for the Peace and Reconciliation Center in Hawaii, for high school and university students, women prisoners, spiritual communities and the US Air Force. She is the author of the Kindle book, My Father Killed My Mother and Married My Aunt: Forgiving the Unforgivable.
In this conversation, we’re talking about:
- Forgiving the unforgivable
- Healing so you can tell your story
- Recognizing you chose the person you married and taking responsibility for that
- How to have healthy boundaries with people you’ll never change
- The power of following our intuition
- Being comfortable with telling our stories to others
Taking responsibility for everything in our life is what frees us. It’s a call for self-love. You take responsibility but you don’t beat the shit out of yourself.
